The transaction is expected to close on or before July 30, 2011. Capt Pete Pallota has owned and operated the store for more than 30 years as a classic dive training center and SCUBAPRO ("jout":NASDAQ) retailer. This acquisition will mark the first step in the implementation of the strategic plan for Brownie's Marine that will expand its offerings to serve a larger customer base. Pompano Beach currently has 6 dive stores servicing an active SCUBA community and zero Brownie representation.

Why Nitrox?

After reading the other thread on "Online Nitrox Courses", it got me thinking....Why Nitrox? I have to admit I don't know exactly why one would want the nitrox cert and I'm sure there are others. Yes, I've heard something about it allows for safer dives and some have said it makes you feel more alert (but, this has been debated). I've heard that if you are diving multiple deeper dives it is much safer. I just finished doing some dives in the Philippines, and it was my first experience with Nitrox.
