From the supplier: Latex-protein allergies among medical workers have increased dramatically since the early 1980s, leading to some 100 lawsuits now in progress nationwide. Increased use of latex in the medical industry, following the spread of AIDS, led the makers to use faster processes that leave in more extractable proteins. About 10% of medical workers develop some level of allergy, which can result in chronic lesions and eventually death by anaphylaxis response. The allergy can change many life activities.
