RNLI rescue around the coast of Wexford launched 94 times last year, saving a total of 144 people.
The legends are varied in nature, but they do reflect an increase over the previous year. Part of this increase can be explained by the increasing number of people taking the water for recreational variety.
As long evenings and warmer weather in the game, the next few months are the busiest for the county beaches and rivers, and also for the volunteer rescue crews stationed around the coast.
"Rescue crews are always available to give advice to anyone thinking of taking water," said Áine Stafford, PRO and one of the security guards sea Courtown RNLI Lifeboat. "Especially if you take water for the first time, we can give advice on maritime safety.
