Ok i bought a new bathroom faucet and the flexible supply lines that came with the faucet are 5/8". my shut off valves are 3/8". so i went to Lowe's and bought a ander-lign compression union that's 5/8 od x 3/8 od. when i screwed the hose to the connector it didn't really seem to fit well at all. only went in about 2 turns. so i hooked up the 3/8 end to shut off and it shot water everywhere! so i tightened it down and the nut on the flexi line split a little. but it still leaks out the top of the nut like hose isn't flush with the nut yet but i don't want to tighten it any more because its already split. the lines came with the faucet so im not sure i can just get new ones was wondering if there is anything i can put around the outside of the connection to stop the leak?
