Mayfield Village will offer four swim training courses

Several swim training courses will be offered in Mayfield Village starting July 11.

American Red Cross certified lifeguard training will take place from 8 a.m. to noon July 11-22, with a pretest at 6 p.m. July 5.

Parkview Pool will offer the program for students age 15 and older. Some prerequisites include the ability to swim 300 yards continuously and retrieve a 10-pound object from the bottom of the pool.

Cost is $150 for Mayfield Village residents, $170 for non-residents. Students must attend all classes to be certified.

Reasonably Priced Video Dive Mask Works While Snorkeling, Too

Summertime and so many of us are snorkeling or diving into underwater worlds. You can take pictures and videos underwater wearing this dive mask.  It's a reasonably priced way to bring home memories of the fish and coral you see when diving or snorkeling this summer.

Liquid Image makes video dive masks in a few sizes. Here's a review from my husband, a camera buff, who tested it while snorkeling.
